Background: I have 20 Win7 laptops (Dell Latitude E5550) in a cart & I'd like updates to happen off-hours so users aren't bothered during work hours. We have a GPO that says to install them automatically & I believe it may make them restart Yes.Updates that don't require a restart will install right away but ones that do won't restart your computer without your permission.screen is for: Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows: This is pretty self-explanatory.
It might become a bit annoying if you are in hurry and want to shut down your system immediately without wasting your time in installing those updates and sometimes it gets worst when you accidentally click on the button in hurry. If you want to permanently remove this "Install updates and shut down" option, then create a new DWORD No AUShutdown Option and set its value to 1 It'll completely remove "Install updates and shut down" option from Start Menu.
