One of the things that changes on a pretty regular basis is the Astro Software.

The Garmin engineers make improvements in the software all the time.

City planners surely exist only to confuse and befuddle us, closing the best route to work for endless repairs and turning town centres into seemingly inescapable mazes of one-way streets.

Actually, that’s a bit unfair as the changes normally make it better for everyone in the long run, but in the meantime it can be quite frustrating.

We only sell the latest maps that are available (Garmin update these every 3 to 4 months) and a map card can be purchased from here Ireland & UK SD card If your sat-nav has a 'LM' designation, for example, the nuvi 2415LM or nuvi 2597LM then your device comes with free lifetime map updates.

In this case you update the maps on your sat-nav using Garmin Express which you download from Garmin's website and install on your PC or Mac.

For those with newer devices these changes have made it much simpler, for others it can still be a painful process with numerous calls to Garmin technical support.

Even with several years of updating various models of Garmin sat-navs, I have found the experience torturous at times.
